The story behind Dash
How We Got Started
I'm Nicole, and the handsome boy in the photo is my dog, Tony.
Like many dog owners, I've spent far too much time searching online for reliable information when it comes to my dog's health or behaviour.
One website says it's nothing to worry about. Another tells you to rush to the emergency vet. Before long, you're more confused than when you started.
I created Dash at the height of a heatwave. There was so much conflicting information about walking dogs in warm weather so the first feature of the app was a walk safety checker. This provides tailored safety advice based on your location, the current weather, and your dog's breed, age, and health history.
Over time I added other features to the app, including a health tracker, doggy day out search, vet finder, photo recognition, and tailored advice provided by the friendly mascot, Dash. When I say over time, I mean in one intense, hyper-focused caffeine fuelled weekend.
The goal isn't to replace your vet—it's to help you feel more informed and confident between visits. We want to make it easier to understand your dog's health, recognise when something might need attention, and build simple habits that keep them happier and healthier for years to come.
Everything we create is designed with one question in mind:
Will this genuinely help a dog owner today?
If the answer is yes, it belongs in Dash.
Whether you're welcoming your first puppy, caring for a senior companion, or simply want to be the best dog owner you can be, I'm glad you're here.
